What made it such a big hit almost cult like status like Prema Loka, Jogi and OM? The very fact that so much discussion and blogging is happening means a bigger hit. Could not resist the temptation to put thoughts again.

It surely cant be just be with simple story, good camera work and good songs.

Trying to analylze what went right for the movie some thoughts.
Story
You start liking happy to go lucky Preetam. You want him to win over the maiden Sanjana Gandhi. The director makes us feel that he is going to win her hand and he does it in steps. Even though there is no suspense he builds up ours, preetam's and nandhini's expectations. Finally the twist in the tale.
Here everybody is good no real villian. Even the supposed to be villian who gets beaten up comes as good fella after all.
You start thinking everybody is right in their way even though they all become hurdles to the hero.
You start empathising with everyone and feel poor fellow had no option.

Songs
Some very good lyrics, melodius tunes and slick camera work kunidu, ondeondu, anisuthide..

Actors
Did fresh faces make the difference? Not great faces, but competent acting

External factors
Could it also be external factors like rise in kannada pride because of Cauvery issue, which made people go and watch good movie?
No competion from other good kannada movies? Isnt this normal?
No competetion from other language movies which are good? I have no idea about this.

Does anybody have answer?
