Prithvi- Movie

Went to one more movie this year. This time it was Puneet Rajkumar’s Prithvi. It is a brave and a good decision by Puneet to accept the movie. It takes on the establishment, the government and more importantly the Bellary Reddy brothers. It is makes an obvious political statement without naming.
Movie itself is very well made straight to the point, direct, fast paced, story line is minimal, but very relevant and contemporary. It us on illegal mining, people problems because of this, political manipulation, most important encroachment of Karnataka by mining barons. Movie is fast paced doesn’t bore with commercial elements or unnecessary sentiment though there is lots of opportunity, Jacob Verghese has done a very good job. Puneet has acted well; director has presented him in at very refined and subtle way. Every actor play their part well. Photography is very good. Songs could have been better. Off course there are couple of songs and a fights director could not help it I guess.
Liked the movie for its content, execution and relevance. It does not bore or beat around the bush or become crass or jingoistic with message
